Uses
1. Mainly used as a soft monomer for the production of solvent-based and emulsion-type acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives. Also used as the main monomer for microsphere pressure-sensitive adhesives for sticky notes. Used in the manufacture of coatings, plastic modifiers, paper and leather processing auxiliaries, textile finishing agents, etc.
2. Used as a polymerization monomer for flexible polymers, acting as an internal plasticizer in copolymers. Also used as a solvent.
3. Used for processing synthetic fiber fabrics and as an adhesive (pressure-sensitive adhesive).
Safety, Security & Risk
The substance may polymerize when heated.Upon heating, it decomposes and emits irritating fumes (acrylic acid, acrolein).
