Calcium acetate is a common organic calcium salt, appearing as a white crystalline powder. It is hygroscopic, soluble in water and slightly soluble in ethanol. It decomposes into acetone and calcium carbonate at 160 °C. Its aqueous solution is weakly alkaline with good stability. Featuring mature production technology, it complies with food and industrial grade standards and is widely used in food, pharmaceutical, chemical and other industries.

1. Food industry: As a food additive (E263), it is used as a tofu coagulant, preservative, acidity regulator and calcium fortifier. It can extend the shelf life of baked foods and improve the texture of soybean products.
2. Pharmaceutical field: Used in the treatment of hypercalcemia and hyperphosphatemia, as an oral calcium supplement.
3. Chemical industry: Raw material for organic synthesis, analytical reagent, water treatment agent, coating and ink additive, metal rust inhibitor.
Safety, Security & Risk
Chemical Hazards
Decomposes above 160 °C, producing acetone vapor and calcium carbonate.Reacts violently with strong acids, releasing acetic acid fumes.
