Description

Ethyl acetate occurs naturally in food, like wines, brandy, fruits and essential oils obtained from fruits and flowers, also  blue cheese and baked potatoes.  It can also be formed in the process of fermenting beers. With  excellent solubility and quick-drying, Ethyl Acetate is an important organic chemical raw material and industrial solvent that has a wide range of uses.

Uses

1. It is listed as a permitted edible flavor in GB 2760-1996.
2. Ethyl acetate is used as an industrial solvent and eluent. It can be used for nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose, chlorinated rubber, vinyl resin, cellulose acetate, cellulose acetate butyrate and synthetic rubber. It is also used in liquid nitrocellulose ink for copiers. It can serve as a solvent for adhesives and a thinner for spray paints, and is applied in the production of inks and artificial leathers. It is used as an analytical reagent, a standard substance for chromatographic analysis and a solvent.
3. It can be used as a cleaning agent in the textile industry, as a flavor extractant for specially modified alcohol in the food industry, and also as an extractant in pharmaceutical processes and for organic acids.
4. Used as a standard substance for thermometer calibration in the separation of carbohydrates.
5. Biochemical research and protein sequence analysis.
6. Environmental protection and analysis of pesticide residues.

Safety,Security&Risk

Reacts with strong oxidizing agents. Risk of fire and explosion.Reacts violently with strong bases and strong acids.Attacks rubber and certain types of plastics.
