It is mainly used as a raw material for pharmaceuticals, pesticides (carbaryl, dimethoate, chlordimeform, etc.), dyes (alizarin intermediates, anthraquinone intermediates, etc.), explosives and fuels (water gel explosives, monomethylhydrazine, etc.), surfactants, accelerators, rubber additives, photographic chemicals and solvents.
